I had sworn to myself that it would never happen to me again. But here I am six months later, feeling sorry for myself and wondering how I had been so foolish.

Now, this is how it started. I had an opportunity to become an employee whereby every day I had to do some tasks to earn money. The first few months went on well, I was doing my tasks, earning money and even withdrawing. Because of this withdrawal pattern, I gained confidence and started investing. Now, here is where I took the bait.

They provided very lucrative interest rates that lasted for longer periods. It appeared too good, but hey. I had been withdrawing, hadn’t I? when my investments were almost maturing, all of a sudden, the company had received interested partners who wanted to join the company and make it expand. Not realizing it was their exit strategy. All withdrawals stopped and we lost contact with the company leaving me leaking my wounds,

All was not lost though, because I came out wiser. I noted the following red signs:

  • When you engage with someone who wants to be in control of your money please keep off.
  • There is no such thing as quick money. Rather look for a steady and realistic interest growth.
  • Don’t work with someone who can access you, but you can’t access them.

After this terrible incident, I feel rather foolish. I realized that scamming keeps on evolving, so let us be on the lookout. I felt so helpless, not knowing where to start. I had also managed to convince people that this was a real deal. The weight of their loss was on my shoulders. I just wished that the ground would open and swallow me.

But life is for the living. I decided not to let this incidence define my life, that is why I share my experience with everyone out there so that you may avoid what I went through.

What can I say, if it walks like a duck, then probably it is a duck.
