Chapter 1:  ORIENTATION

We all grew up being told by our primary and secondary school teachers about the good life in campus. They really made our fantasy by explaining how life in campus is amazing, especially on matters concerning male-female relationship,”kijana achana na wasichana wa sekondari hata hawajui kuoga, soma enda university utapatana na waremboo.” Such statement could trigger our eagerlity to reach campus. I specifically was among the ones who struggled to make sure we further our studies upto university.

They say dreams are valid and  goals are achievable, at the long last we were there in the university.my main  goal to university was to study and further my  knowledge but again I had a struggled so that i can go and experience the new relationship life in university.

I remember my first day in University as if it was yesterday. it was a very chilly morning at laikipia University .my elder brother had the taken me for an enrollment and all the first years were there at the field. In a group of 1800 students three quarters were female, not only female but beautifu energetic young ladies from across the country.  Although at that time I was not thinking of engaging in any relationship with a lady since it was my first day, it was a must that I’ll one day have one from among the group. As  we kept on filling the enrollment forms, a young beautiful kikuyu lady approached me, with a grief face she looked innocent. From the tale of her face I could predict that she needed a favor from me. “Mambo naitwa Chiko.” She greeted  me. “Poa sana, naitwa aroma, nikusaidie aje” I answered. “I’m requesting you lend me your pen since I forgot mine elsewhere.” As beautiful as she was I could not hesitate to help such an Innocent soul. But before she left I had to ask for her contact in case I could need the pen back, I could find an easy way to track her. I was happy because at least now I got a friend to talk to in a new place following the fact that she was an opposite gender it made me more of furious.

For the next one week everyone was busy exploring the new environment, honestly I had no idea or intention of engaging in any intimate relationship. Before the normal classes started we had a period of orientation where news students were given advice and all the information they required concerning the university that is location of every building lessons to attend and at what time. All the does and don’ts were  strictly given to us with a fancization. I remember very well the emphasized on  male-female relationship. The advised us to be keen when choosing partners and friends. they also told us that never make a mistake of a leavng a university without getting  a marriage partner from the same.

Chapter 2: MY NEW CAMPUS RELATIONSHIP  -start

After 2 weeks of relaxation we started our lessons it was my first day to enter into University class, it was totally different from water had expected one of the things that I noted is that student were allowed to carry phones but for me I had left mine in the room because I knew it was an offence to carry upon one to class, another thing I noted here learners call themselves comrades not students.

At this time I had gotten one male friend whom we had come from the same residential area and you were doing the same course. As we seated in despair waiting for the lecturer, we started peeping around. I was amazed to note the lady that I lended my pen sitting at the opposite side where I was sitting.  my heart was filled with joy when I saw her. I told my friend about it and he peer pressureed me to go and say hi to her. In  order to prove my manhood, I went straight to her seat, said hi and had some chat with her. I apologized for not calling her back after she gave me her number but again promised to do it before the day ends.

When the lesson ended we all dispersed   to our various resides. That evening I remembered to call her just to say hi and wishing her a goodnight. From that day we kept on conversing every time we met in class we could go for lunch together, in the evening when the lesson ends you would find us walking together as we went back to our houses.

It reach the time we started to visit one another during weekends since we all stayed in our own rented residents, the act of borrowing a pen on the first day had led to a great relationship and friendship between us. Sometimes we started to invite one another for either lunch or supper and at one point you could find one sleeping at another one’s place just as friends. From there I can’t exactly remember how it went……..

If I tell you that we never dated I will be lying honestly I even don’t know what happened in that, the lady came to be my innermost loved  fiance from 2017 the first day in campus until the last semester in fourth  year when we were preparing for the last exam.

We dated for 4 years since first year up to the fourth year I mean since the first day in first year up to the last semester, the last exam of fourth year. Our relationship was a nice thing that I never imagined that it could end one day we even stayed together at a point for the next 4 years as couples. We acted as role models to our course mates  who wished to be in a relationship like ours, but again we broke up when we were winding up our studies we had challenges we also achieved some goals together a story for another day…………… Continuous
